Choose "The Niche"
When you choose your niche, you must insure two things.
- Knowledge: You need to be educated and experienced in the field you wish to discuss. If you posse the knowledge to elaborate about your niche, your content will naturally become valuable. Potential costumers will want to read everything you write and when you recommend a product, consumers will trust your expertise.
- Localization: If you can localize you niches target demographics, it will make a dramatic change in your Google rankings and organic traffic analytics. For example, instead of attempting to rank for keywords like "Book Stores", try "Book Stores in Michigan" or even better, "Book Stores in Flint Michigan". By adding a city or state to your keyword ranking strategy, it lowers your competition giving you the advantage.
You hear a lot of buzz about keyword research and why it is important. If building SEO, ranking on search engines and obtaining organic traffic is your goal, you will need to apply proper keyword research methods.
- Relevancy: Insure that the keywords you are choosing a relevant to the niche and content you discuss on your website. Put yourself in the customers shoes and ask yourself, "Am I buying anything when I type this in?"
